Crane falls on two houses in North Chattanooga
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)– Crews spent the afternoon removing a crane, and its truck, that fell on top of two homes in Chattanooga.
Officials say a tree trimming company was cutting up a big tree on a homeowner’s yard on Barton Avenue. They were using a crane to remove a log when the crane toppled over, damaging two homes. No one was injured.

The street was shutdown as two cranes came to remove the crane from the house. EPB crews were also on scene to shut down the power.
Neighbors were shocked about what happened.
“I left my house at like 12:30 pm and I was back half an hour later. I just saw wheels up where there shouldn’t be wheels. So I parked my car and I came up here and that was when the first cop car was getting here,” Alexandra Durham said.
The homeowners say they are not allowed back into their homes until it is deemed structurally safe.
