East Ridge Improves ISO Rating
City Receives Improved ISO Rating
Fire Chief Mike Williams announced Thursday night during the regular City Council meeting that the city has achieved an ISO rating of 2. This makes the city one of only seven cities in the state to have the rating. In June, ISO came in and reviewed our operations and manpower. They moved the City of East Ridge from a Class 3 to a Class 2," Chief Williams told the council. "That puts us in the top two percent of fire departments nationwide. This will be effective as of December 1st 2014
Insurance Service Office (ISO) provides statistical information on risk. The ISO rating is from 1-10 with "1" being the best and 10 being no fire protection. Insurance companies calculate rates based upon the ISO rating.
Chief Williams would like to thank all the members of the department, mayor, city council, and city manager for their hard work, and dedication to make this possible.
