Madisonville officer shoots man with a knife

TBI investigating officer-involved shooting overnight

MADISONVILLE, Tennessee (WDEF) – The TBI will investigate an officer-involved shooting in Monroe County overnight.

If happened in the city of Madisonville around midnight.

Police say they were called to deal with a suicidal person who was trying to cut his own throat on Hill Street.

They found a man covered in blood, armed with a knife.

They say when officers told him to drop the knife, he refused.

Then he came at one of the officers with the knife.

The officer shot and killed 42 year old Terry Edwin Moser.

No officers were injured in the incident.
