Mayor Kelly announces 5 new appointments for Chattanooga
Karista Mosley Jones will serve as administrator of the Department of Early Learning.
The former school board member has been working for the city since August on the mayor’s Community Forward partnership with the schools.
The Mayor says “Our commitment to early learning has never been stronger, and with Karitsa taking the lead I’m confident that we have the tools in place to deliver the results our residents expect and deserve.”
Mayor Kelly has also named Chris Anderson as his senior advisor for legislative initiatives.
His main task will be ode and ordinance reform.
Anderson is a former City Council member.
“We have a lot of unwieldy code and zoning rules, and we’ve been kicking the can down the road for too many years,” Kelly said. “I can’t think of a better person than Chris who knows the current ordinances and their shortcomings, and who can work with our City Council to help shepherd along these important initiatives to overhaul our land use, zoning and enforcement rules.”
Mayor Kelly is promoting Tim Moreland to take over Anderson’s old job as administrator of the Department of Innovation Delivery and Performance.
The Mayor has chosen Dylan Rivera to replace Brooke Satterfield as director of policy planning and implementation.
She was promoted to deputy chief of staff.
Rivera worked in the Mayor’s campaign and in his administration.
Mayor Kelly is also appointing Kimberly Strong as a constituent services coordinator.
She has held various roles with the city over the last 29 years.
All of the Mayor’s appointments must be confirmed by the City Council.
