Riverdale Edges East Hamilton 50-45 in Sub State

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) Riverdale edged East Hamilton 50-45 on Monday night in sub state action, punching their ticket to the state tournament.

The Hurricanes were down 26-23 at halftime, but Justin Dozier hit a three-pointer in the final seconds of the third period to tie the game at 38 going to the fourth quarter.

Offense was tough to come by for both teams in the final period. With less than a minute to play, and East Hamilton down 45-43, Dozier lost the ball off his foot and Riverdale gained possession of the loose ball.

The Canes still weren’t finished. With 3.5 seconds to play and East Hamilton down 48-45, they inbounded the ball in the corner to Cam Montgomery. He was trapped and lost the ball out-of-bounds. Riverdale added a couple of free throws to seal the 50-45 victory. East Hamilton finishes the season with a 25-8 record.
