Child playing with matches leads to Ooltewah house fire

OOLTEWAH, Tennessee (WDEF) – A juvenile playing with matches started a house fire in Ooltewah this afternoon.

The fire broke out in the 4000 block of East Freedom Circle.

Tri Community Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from a bedroom window.

They found one of the bedrooms, and a closet on fire.

A mother and the juvenile were home at the time, but they were not injured.

The fire is being called accidental after the juvenile admitted to playing with matches.

There is 40-thousand dollars damage to the home.
