Construction ready to begin on Miracle Field Sports Complex at Warner Park
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The City Council approved a final agreement clearing the way for the Miracle Field Sports Complex and Playground.
The Miracle Field movement provides sports facilities to people with physical and mental challenges.
The city donated property at Warner Park and the money is coming from donations from companies, foundations and individuals.
John Germ, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Miracle League of Chattanooga, commented, “This project is another example of Chattanooga’s public/private partnerships that is part of the fabric of our community.”
They raised enough money to fund both phase one and two, which includes a multi-purpose field for events like the Special Olympics.
Chattanooga’s YMCA will run the Miracle League.
President Janet Dunn said “The YMCA of Metropolitan Chattanooga is excited about partnering with the Miracle League to bring baseball to kids with special needs. ”
But they are still raising money and looking for volunteers.
You can learn more about doing both at the Miracle Field website.
