Suspect indicted for murder of West Tennessee deputy
Deputy was shot during a domestic violence call last September in Clifton
CLIFTON, Tennessee (WDEF) – A suspect faces multiple indictments for the incident that led to the death of a Sheriff’s deputy in West Tennessee last fall.
Hardin County Deputy Matthew Locke was responding to a domestic disturbance call in Clifton on September 26.
According to the TBI, Multiple officers were on the scene where Todd Stricklin refused to throw down his gun.
They say as Deputy Locke came up to the house to assist, Stricklin shot him.
Stricklin ran into the woods.
Several hours later, Tennessee state troopers took him into custody.
He has now been indicted on dozens of charges, including First Degree Murder, Aggravated Kidnapping and Domestic Assault.
