Officer Involved Shooting sends man to hospital in Chattanooga after disorder call
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police say a suspect is recovering from a gun shot wound after police shot him on Tunnel Blvd.
Dispatch says the call came in around 7:30 for a disorder involving a weapon.
Chattanooga Police officers say a male suspect who matched the description given by witnesses of a person with a firearm involved in a disorder.
Officers encountered the suspect, shots were fired, and the male suspect was shot in the leg.
The male suspect was transported by Hamilton County EMS with a non-life threatening injury.
According to department policy, two officers have been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.
The Hamilton County Sheriff Office will be handling the criminal investigation.
