16 year old arrested in Vine Street shooting

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF)- CPD Robbery Investigators have made an arrest in the April 22, 2022 Shooting at 2500 Vine Street. The suspect has been charged with Especially Aggravated Robbery and is in custody at the Juvenile Detention Facility. CPD will be withholding the suspect’s name due to his status as a juvenile.

 

PREVIOUS STORY:

On April 22, 2022 at approximately 5:00 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to the 2500 block of Vine Street on a report of a person shot. The following are the preliminary facts of the investigation:

  • Upon arrival, Officers located a male party suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and secured the scene.
  • The victim was transported to a local hospital by Hamilton County EMS with non life threatening injuries.
  • Investigators with the Robbery Unit responded to conduct an investigation.
  • Investigators learned that the victim was walking near the above location when an unknown party approached him, produced a firearm and demanded his belongings. The victim fled on foot and then allegedly heard gunshots and realized he’d been struck.
