Former Chattanooga Area HS Football Coach John Allen Placed on Suspension in Knoxville
Knox Co Schools has placed Powell head football coach John Allen on administrative suspension from coaching.
Spokesman Melissa Ogden told WVLT-TV in Knoxville that Allen will remain suspended pending the outcome of an investigation into whether Allen placed students at risk of injury.
The matter has been referred to the Department of Children’s Services.
Allen will remain as a teacher at Powell.
Allen coached at several schools in the Chattanooga area.
Last January, he left after three seasons as the head coach at Chattanooga Central to take the head job at Powell.
