Update on Bahama boat explosion victims Maleka & Tiran Jackson
ATLANTA/MIAMI (WDEF) – Funeral arrangements are being made for the woman who was killed in a tour boat explosion over the weekend in the Bahamas.
Maleka Jackson and her husband, Tiran, were celebrating their 15th wedding anniversary.
He remains in a Miami hospital.
They were on a small boat that exploded on Saturday.
Maleka was killed in the explosion, her husband was hurt.
The doctor treating him says Tiran had several broken bones.
“Unfortunately, due to the injuries that he has sustained he had to undergo initial amputation, we call this guillotine amputation just to cut the bad tissue, the infected tissue, the bad tissue out.”
12 people were on board the boat.
The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
