SCOTTSBORO, Alabama (WDEF) – An 18 wheeler wreck on the side of the Tennessee River has crews trying to contain a paint spill.
The truck carrying a load of paint crashed this morning at the south end of the Bob Jones Bridge near Scottsboro.
The truck was pulling off of Highway 40 onto 35 when it happened at the marina.
Paint spread across the southbound lanes and made it to the river.
Crews are using dirt and sand to try to absorb it.
The bridge was shut down for awhile, and the cleanup has stretched into the afternoon.
The driver was taken to the hospital.
Officials believe the truck lost its brakes after coming down Sand Mountain.
