Pops on the River Returns
After two years the festival draws thousands in to see the fireworks and hear the symphony.
The free annual event has been held in Coolidge Park since 2000. The Chattanooga Symphony performed for attendees, as well as local bands and solo artists. It is the first year the event has invited art vendors to participate.
Carla Pritchard is with Chattanooga Presents, the production company that puts on the highly anticipated event. Pritchard said her company was excited to have Pops on the River back in full swing.
“It’s definitely got a great spirit about this event and any and everyone comes out to this families, all ages, veterans, kids. We have people just throwing the Frisbee a little earlier in the day,” Pritchard said. “We have art vendors sitting out here for the first time this year we invited about 20 different artisans to come and be part of the festival. But, it really is something that people look forward to. There’s wonderful pop music by the symphony”
The event closed with a large firework display shot from Renaissance Park.
