Uncle Nearest 100 Cities in 100 Days Whiskey Tour ends in Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – This afternoon the founder and CEO of Uncle Nearest Whiskey visited Chattanooga’s Common House as her last stop on her 100 cities tour,

The Nearest Green Distillery opened in Shelbyville, Tennessee just a few years ago.

The distillery produces Uncle Nearest whiskey and is one of the only distilleries in the country owned and operated by a Black woman.

The owner of the award winning company has embarked on a 100 cities in 100 days tour, making Chattanooga the last stop on her journey.

Fawn Weaver said coming to Chattanooga to promote her brand was a no-brainer, due to the Scenic City’s growing food and drink scene.

“You can’t not include Chattanooga. I mean, the cocktail scene here the food scene that’s really rising up in Chattanooga, there was there was no way we weren’t going to include Chattanooga. So that was never a question plus the fact stirs here, were in common house like we weren’t going to skip these things,” said weaver

Weaver named her company after Nearest Green, the world’s first known African American distiller. Her brand is the best selling black owned spirit brand of all time.
