JASPER, Tennessee (WDEF) – Marion County Sheriff’s officers say they have interrupted a drug connection from Atlanta to Guild, Tennessee.

Investigators say Cary Paradis picked up a large amount of meth in Atlanta and intended to take a pound of it to Guild.

But when he arrived, he was met by several law enforcement agencies.

They say they went to his hotel room and found another 14 pounds along with 5 ounces of fentanyl.

Paradis has four preview drug convictions.

Marion County Sheriff Bo Burnette said “this joint investigation has helped to shut down a major supplier of methamphetamine that was supplying large amounts of methamphetamine to Marion and Sequatchie Counties which was coming straight from Mexican Drug Cartels.”
