Pensacola Snaps Lookouts 7 Game Winning Streak
(lookouts.com) The Chattanooga Lookouts fell 10-8 to the Pensacola Blue Wahoos in extra innings to snap their seven game winning streak.
Tonight’s contest started out on a high note for the home team as Brent Rooker blasted a two-run homer. For Rooker it was the second consecutive night he homered in the first inning. He how has 19 dingers on the year which puts him in a tie for second in the southern league.
In the third inning the Blue Wahoos roared back with a six-run third, highlighted by Aristides Aquino’s three run homer. They added two more runs in the fourth to increase their lead to four.
Chattanooga’s bats remained silent until the seventh inning. Ryan Walker and Jordan Gore smacked RBI singles to put within two runs. Rooker then knotted the game up on a two-run double. The slugger now leads the league in RBIs with 65.
Tied heading into 10th inning, Taylor Sparks belted a two-run homer to give Pensacola the 10-8 lead. The Lookouts had two runners on, but could not plate any runners.
Tomorrow, the teams return for a Business Person Special at 11:15 a.m.
