Mocs Can Seal Playoff Berth With Win Saturday Over Wofford

  The Mocs are fully aware of what’s at stake this weekend, and Coach Huesman is quick to remind them.

Said Russ Huesman,"I actually said it to the team after the (WCU) game. You walk out of this locker room, just remember, we’ve got a game Saturday that can clinch the automatic berth to the playoffs."

Said quarterback Jacob Huesman,"We’ve got to make the most of that opportunity this year. It’s something not a lot of people get to do. We’ve got to capitalize this year."

    Coach Huesman says his team has a lot of confidence, and it was evident in their showdown against Western Carolina.

Said defensive end Davis Tull,"I think honestly, we perform better in big time games. Having these big time games, it builds a little bit of pressure and a little bit more pressure I guess during the week of practice. You feel it a little bit more. You want to go a little bit harder."

    If UTC beats Wofford, they’ll earn their first playoff berth since 1984.

But Coach Huesman is trying not to get ahead of himself.

"Job is not accomplished yet. I mean not even close. I wish we weren’t playing such a good football team this week."

Said Jacob Huesman,"Somehow it always comes down to Wofford doesn’t it. That’s weird."

Said Russ Huesman,"They’re not going to give us this game. I wish they would. Wish they would come on out and say you guys are pretty good dudes, go ahead and take this thing."

    Saturday will also mark the Mocs final home game, so the senior dudes will be honored.

Said Tull,"Senior night. Hopefully we can come in and finish what we started four and-a-half years ago."
The Mocs and Terriers kick at 1pm on Saturday at Finley Stadium.
