SODDY-DAISY, Tenn. (WDEF)- First responders with multiple agencies rescued a woman who was injured while hiking on Monday evening.

HECMS says that they received a call at 7:15 PM about a 60 year old woman who had slipped on some rocks in a fall near Paradise Falls on Mowbray Mountain. She had fallen more than a mile from the nearest road, Barker Cove Road.

First responders with the Mowbray Mountain Volunteer Fire Department, Lewis Chapel Volunteer Fire Department, and Tennessee State Parks all responded to the scene. They had to use ATVs to get equipment and personnel to the scene.

By 9 PM, they had made contact with the woman and were able to transport her to an HCEMS ambulance via an ATV at 10:04 PM. It took three hours from the initial call to get the hiker to an ambulance due to the remote location. She was then transported to a hospital.
