Moon River Festival Returns for Fourth Year

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Moon River Festival is back this weekend for its fourth year in Chattanooga.

Organizers say they have a packed lineup – from Madeline Edwards and Mat Kearney, to Local Natives and Leon Bridges.

Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors are also performing again this year.

Drew Holcomb tells News 12 they’ll be playing a new song, “Dance with Everybody,” which they released two weeks ago.

“[Ketch Secor from Old Crow Medicine Show] and I wrote this song about how much we miss live music, and it’s really an ode to the audience, and this will be the first time I’ve ever played the song live,” Holcomb said. “I’ve been rehearsing it for days with the band, so the first time that song is ever performed will be [Saturday] night here at Moon River.”

More than half of the vendors at the event are from the Chattanooga area.

There’s even a special place for the kids.

Festival organizers tell News 12 they love holding this event in the Scenic City.

“Chattanooga is just a great city,” Holcomb said. “I love Coolidge Park. It’s right here downtown. People can park downtown and just walk over the Walnut Street Bridge, and the [NorthShore] is such a great neighborhood, great restaurants. People can come in and out of the festival if they want to go experience the neighborhood. I just think it’s a great place. It’s got great music history.”

“It’s amazing. Our top cities after Chattanooga for ticket buyers include New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Nashville, and Charlotte. So we have people coming from all over the country this year, this weekend to experience Moon River at Coolidge Park,” said Ted Heinig, president of AC Entertainment.

Tickets for the festival are still available for both Saturday and Sunday, along with the pre-and after-parties.
