Central Wins Season Opener Over Walker Valley 40-28

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) Central opened the high school football season on Thursday night with a 40-28 victory over Walker Valley at Finley Stadium. The Mustangs defense struggled to slow down the Purple Pounders new Notre Dame box offense. With Central down 3-0 in the first quarter, Hunter Jones raced 64-yards for a touchdown to make it 7-3. In the second quarter, Jaheim Jones hit Jay Jones for a 40-yard touchdown to make it 14-3.  Michael McGhee added a 71-yard touchdown run to make it 20-3 at halftime. Then to open the third quarter, Hunter Jones went 89-yards for a touchdown as the Purple Pounders went on to win 40-28.
