SE Whitfield Wins Region 7-AAAA Mini-Playoff Series on Monday Night

Dalton, GA-(WDEF) Southeast Whitfield beat Heritage 7-0 to win a three team mini-playoff series on Monday night at Coahulla Creek High School. Southeast Whitfield, Heritage and NW Whitfield battled to see who would earn the fourth and final playoff berth from Region 7-AAAA. Each contest consisted of two, five-minute halves. Heritage beat Northwest Whitfield 7-6 in the opener. Bruins scored first but missed the PAT. Heritage answered with a Corbee Wilson 13-yard touchdown pass to Christian Wilson with 32 seconds to play. Jorge Ramos kicked the PAT to give Heritage a 7-6 victory. Then in the second game, Raiders quarterback Will Swantic hit Corey Barnes for a 31 yard touchdown pass to provide the 7-0 victory. Southeast Whitfield gets the playoff berth, and now they’ll play top-ranked Buford on Friday night.
