12 year old run over by pickup in school parking lot

RED BUD, Georgia (WDEF) – A 12 year old student was run over by a pickup truck in a school parking lot Monday in Gordon County, Georgia.

It happened at Red Bud School as parents were picking up children around 4 PM.

Witnesses say the child was sitting on a curb when a pickup rolled onto him.

Investigators say the driver of the truck had gotten out to put his own child in the vehicle, and left it in gear.

The boy was alert as he was taken to the hospital.

The driver, Joshua D. Nilsen, was charged with Reckless Conduct.
