Alzheimer’s Fundraiser

Racers and rockers got together tonight to try and find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.
The Fifty Plus Racing Team hosted a fundraiser this evening.
The group has raised money and awareness for Alzheimer’s through racing activities.
They also had a surprise guest: Brian Johnson from the group AC/DC.
The lead singer has a reason to support the cause.
Founding guitarist Malcolm Young had to quit the group after being diagnosed with dementia.
Johnson says Young was the group’s spitfire, and it hurt to watch his health deteriorate.
But he thinks events like this one will make a difference.
"With all these lovely people here today in Chattanooga, I believe human spirit from resolve of the human spirit will find a cure. Just, I don’t know when."
Dr. Justin Boyd was the guest speaker.
He’s a graduate of Baylor school and the University of Tennessee.
He’s also a research fellow at Harvard Medical School.
