Athens police arrest suspect in shooting
ATHENS, Tennessee (WDEF) – Athens police are holding a man after a shooting incident in which one person was shot in the stomach.
According to a release from the department, police responded to a residence in the 1600 block of Railroad Avenue at 11:15 a.m.
That’s after a report that a man had showed up at the residence with a gunshot wound in the stomach.
The unidentified victim was treated on scene by EMS and then transported to UT Medical Center.
Police say an investigation revealed that a shooting had taken place at a home nearby on Webb Street.
Police arrested David Rodriguez for the shooting.
He remains in the McMinn county jail.
