Active Tuberculosis Case Could Have Exposed Others

Several residents have recently received a letter telling them they may have been exposed to an active carrier.
The patient was at the Dalton Ear Nose and Throat Clinic and could have infected others.
Letters sent out by the clinic and Georgia Public Health Department urge the people determined at risk to get tested immediately.
The investigation could take several more weeks, but as of now..RN David Trammel wants to reassure patients that their office is not a dangerous place.
"It’s perfectly safe to be here. theres no active TB patient in our building theres no one running around spreading TB."
So far no one has tested positive for the disease and the patient that did have active tuberculosis is now inactive and no longer contagious.
