AI Reshaping Future Workplace Skills
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping the workplace, changing how employees complete tasks and how companies define roles across nearly every industry.
While the technology can generate content, analyze data, and even assist with coding, it is also driving a broader shift in the skills workers need to stay competitive.
New workforce insights show that the pace of change is accelerating, with job responsibilities evolving even when employees remain in the same position.
That means many workers may find their day-to-day tasks looking significantly different within just a few years.
LinkedIn’s Chief Economic Opportunity Officer Aneesh Raman points to this shift as a major turning point in the labor market, emphasizing how quickly skills are being replaced or redefined as AI becomes more integrated into everyday work.
“Our Data shows that 70 percent… 70 percent of the skills in the average job will have changed by 2030 so our jobs are changing on us even if we aren’t changing jobs kind of into a new job part of that to get ahead of it to control that is you gotta use these AI tools they’re super easy to use you. Talk to them like you would another person you use them to do the stuff you’d like to do least about your day.”
Alongside technical abilities, soft skills such as communication, adaptability, and problem-solving are increasingly being viewed as critical in navigating this shift.
As AI handles more routine and technical tasks, these human-centered skills are becoming more central to how people work, collaborate, and advance in their careers.
