Alabama setting absentee voting record

SCOTTSBORO, Alabama (WDEF) – Alabama is also setting absentee voting records.

All eyes are on the Senate race between Democratic incumbent Doug Jones and Republican challenger Tommy Tuberville.

Last week’s Cygnal poll has Jones trailing Tuberville by 13 points.

Voter Alice Dicus tells us she expects turnout to be just as high on election day, with both sides of the political aisle feeling energized.

“It’s a big election. Big, big difference. Big difference in the two candidates I believe and what everybody’s saying, you know, they’re gonna vote. They haven’t voted in a lot of years but they’re gonna vote this time, you know, stuff like that.”

Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill says a record 200,000 Alabamians have already cast their ballots.
