Alabama’s “Million Dollar Band” Performs at Finley Stadium

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The Alabama Million Dollar Band came rolling and marching through Chattanooga on their way to the upcoming Alabama Crimson Tide versus our very own Tennessee Vols in Knoxville.

The band performed at Finley Stadium to continue the tradition that started back in 1992 started by a woman who goes by Bama Gene.

Both Roll Tide fans, Vol fans, and even just members of the Chattanooga community were invited to witness the famous band halftime show, enjoy some good food, and even enter for a chance to win signed memorabilia.

The Million Dollar Band, which got their name from an over 100-year story of raising funds to travel to away football games, is now made up of over 400 unique members from around the country and world.

The band even travels to all away games and regional marching band competitions.

The University of Alabama Crimson Tide and University of Tennessee Vols football teams play on the third Saturday in October and each year, the respective team’s band stops in Chattanooga to perform their halftime show as they make their way to their opponent’s city.

The famous game takes place at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville this year on Saturday the 19th at 2:30pm and everyone at WDEF is wishing both teams and bands good luck in the game this weekend.
