The Alexa Conference kicked off at Downtown Chattanooga Library
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- The Alexa Conference is going on right now in Chattanooga.
Dozens are gathering at the Chattanooga Library downtown to discuss how voice technology being used across the world.
The goal is to give developers the training needed to take their work to the next level, including this #voicefirst technology.
Organizers say that chose the Gig City because Chattanooga is at the forefront of cutting-edge technology that takes this technology to another level.
Dean Haskell says “Voice technology is where the interaction of human and computing is going. Being attached to a keyboard or being attached to a mouse has its limitations. Where if you can get the computer to understand all of our voices in its infinite magnitude of differences, we can begin to interact more closely with the computer and have it serve our needs as humans in a much better way. ”
They held a panel discussion Thursday morning about how Alexa and other voice-first technology is being used in Chattanooga.
Jake Brown from EPB and Jackson Stone from Skuid’s Senior Software Engineer were on the panel and say they are doing incredible work to leverage Alexa-enabled technology.
Mayor Andy Berke was the keynote speaker over lunch Thursday. The conference ends on Saturday.
