Alleged armed robber captured; accomplice on the run
CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee (WDEF) – An armed robbery suspect who admitted to robbing two men at gunpoint is now in jail tonight his alleged accomplice is on the run.
Saturday evening, Chattanooga police arrested Jonathan Starling, 31, of Chattanooga and charged him with two counts aggravated robbery.
It happened in the 3700 block of 5th Avenue.
According to an affidavit obtained by News 12, Starling and another unidentified suspect pulled a revolver on two men and robbed them of money and their wallets before walking off in different directions.
One of the victims followed Starling and called 911.
Police quickly arrived on scene and took Starling into custody.
Starling later admitted to the crime during interrogation.
His bond was set at $150,000 and he’s due in court this upcoming Friday.
There is no information on the other suspect.
