America’s Got Talent contestant arrested in Georgia

EVANS, Georgia (WDEF) – Skilyr Hicks, who tied out for America’s Got Talent at 14, now has a police record at 18.

Fox54 in Augusta reports that last week, she was charged with domestic violence at her home in Evans, Georgia.

Family members say Skilyr snuck out of the house before midnight and was dropped off, drunk, at around 2:20 AM.

They say they left her in the garage because she was too drunk to get to her bedroom.

Witnesses say when Skilyr woke up, she came inside extremely angry.

They say she pushed one family member over, causing injuries.

Another family member hit her in the side of the face and they were able to restrain her.

When police interviewed her, they say she was still disoriented and unable to recall what happened.

She registered a .126 on a breathalyzer test.

She faces three counts of Simple Battery- Family Violence.

One family member told police she has a history of alcohol abuse.

Skilyr Hicks appeared on the eighth season of America’s Got Talent in 2013.
