Amy-O-Meter: Coca-Cola produces first plastic bottle completely made with renewable plant materials

Chattanooga, TN  (WDEF) – Atlanta’s Coca-Cola Company just rolled out the planet’s first PET plastic bottle made entirely from plant material.
The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports the PlantBottle technology converts natural sugars found in plants into the ingredients to make PET plastic bottles.
Sugar cane plastic to be exact.
The bottles are 100% renewable and fully recyclable.
    It’s a step up from Coca-Cola’s current plant-bottle.
30% of the current bottle is made from plant materials.
Coca-cola claims the PlantBottle packaging has helped save the equivalent annual emissions of more than 315,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide.
That in itself earns a "10" on the Amy-O-Meter…  But think of the creative ways kids can tell their parents they’re getting their veggies now!
