Anakeesta announces new attractions for their adventure park

PIGEON FORGE, Tennessee (WDEF) – A Pigeon Forge attraction announces a new attraction that should be ready to go this spring.

Anakeesta is a mountaintop adventure park overlooking the city.

They have begun a five year expansion plan.

The centerpiece is Firefly Village.

Anakeesta is expanding it with new pathways, water features and public spaces.

It will also include a tribute to the synchronous fireflies in the Smokey Mountains.

For just a few weeks in June, the fireflies will all light up in unison.

Anakeesta is paying tribute by creating an immersive synchronous firefly walk after dark in the Skywalk.

It should be turned on this spring.

Anakeesta also hopes to replace their tram service up the mountain.

The new version will take you up the mountain in glass-bottom gondolas.

It gives you a 360-degree view of the mountains and only takes 4 minutes to reach the top.

Beginning next year, they will announce new rides, meals and attractions at Anakeesta.

President Bryce Bentz says ”Making More Magic is a comprehensive phased vision that redefines what an adventure park in the Smoky Mountains can be. Over the next five years, Anakeesta will double its footprint, introducing new villages, redefining the existing park, adding new attractions, and crafting elevated dining and retail experiences.”
