Anakeesta debuts glass Gondolas next weekend

GATLINBURG, Tennessee (WDEF) – A Gatlinburg attraction announces the date for their new gondola rides.

Anakeesta will open a new season on May 22 with what they call the world’s only all-glass gondola system.

You will get on the ride in the valley and take it to the top of the mountain in just 4 minutes.

In previous years, the lift was smaller and took much longer.

But now visitors will have a full panoramic view of the mountains from 80 feet in the air.

“The Crystal Express represents a major step forward at Anakeesta,” said Bob Bentz, Founding Partner of Anakeesta. “From the moment visitors leave the Parkway, we want them to feel the magic of this mountain. This new lift enhances that experience with incredible views, greater comfort, and the efficiency needed to welcome even more families to the Smokies.”

Later this spring, Anakeesta will debut their Firefly Experience along the treetop walk to recreate the image of the synchronous fireflies in the Smoky Mountains.
