Andrews murder suspect caught in Murphy NC last night

MURPHY, North Carolina (WDEF) – A woman was shot to death at a home in Andrews, North Carolina on Sunday.

Witnesses told officers that the suspect had fled in a vehicle and he was still armed.

Cherokee County deputies and city officers pulled over 36 year old James Donald Taylor II shortly thereafter.

He has been charged with Second Degree Murder.

Sheriff Derrick Palmer says “This investigation is in its early stages as we continue to collect information.”

“Our hearts and prayers go out to the families and the community as we all experience this loss.”

“We appreciate the assistance that has been provided by the Murphy Police Department and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.”
