Annual Gathering of Medal of Honor Recipients is coming to Chattanooga
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Today, The Coolidge National Medal of Honor Heritage Center announced it will be gathering all living Medal of Honor recipients for a celebration in 2025. The event featured a long list of public officials such as Chattanooga Mayor, Tim Kelly, Hamilton County Mayor, Weston Wamp and State Representative, Patsy Hazlewood. Officials spoke today on the importance of bringing every recipient home to the museum.
“I think it’s a great opportunity for us to showcase this Medal of Honor heritage center. That’s the main thing right I think I think having all of them here and having all the people who gather here for that come through this amazing center going to be great opportunity for the center and it’s going to be a great opportunity for Chattanooga showcase our hospitality,” said Chattanooga Mayor, Tim Kelly.
Public officials are eager to welcome living Medal of Honor recipients to show them how their sacrifices for the United States benefited every citizen present and past as we live in the greatest country in the world.
“For these people to have demonstrated courage in a way that is the highest honor of the country bestow on those who serve in our military the opportunity for those of us who live here to be in the presence of so many of them, I think is where the real impact is,” said Hamilton County Mayor, Weston Wamp.
General B.B. Bell of the US Army stressed the importance of Chattanooga, and one of the most important events to happen during Medal of Honor celebration in 2025 will be to show every previous recipient the history of the Medal of Honor and Andrews’ Raid.
The Medal of Honor Celebration will feature a series of public and private events from September 30th, 2025, to October 4th, 2025, with a highly anticipated Patriot Award Gala at the Chattanooga Convention Center.
