Apison Essay Winner

APISON, Tenn. (WDEF) – Mothers hold a special place in our hearts.

One Apison Elementary student feels so strongly about his own Mom, that he’s won a national essay contest.

Cole Henry gets a cash reward, and trip to Washington, D.C. with his parents as a result.

American Mothers is a non-profit organization that aims to honor mothers through educational programs and community outreach.

The organization announced the winners of the national 2016 Fifth Grade Essay Contest.

The competition centers around writing a 150 word, handwritten essay on “What My Mother Means to Me,” and encourages students from around the country to celebrate their mothers.
