Apison man arrested after wreck in Ohio

CADIZ, Ohio (WDEF) – An Apison man was arrested near Steubenville, Ohio Thursday for operating a vehicle under the influence and endangering children.

A local television station reports the wreck happened when 46-year-old Anthony Ashe overturned his tractor-trailer on U.S. Route 22 very early Thursday morning.

Ashe had his 9-year-old daughter in the truck at the time of the accident.

An Ohio State Trooper reports Ashe’s trailer, which was carrying frozen chickens, veered off the side of the road, struck a guardrail and utility pole and then overturned.

Ashe is being held in the Jefferson County, Ohio jail.

His daughter was taken into the custody of children’s services.
