Are we even more distracted behind the wheel than we think

Would you trust an autonomous driver more than your own teenager?

(WDEF) – Despite all the publicity, distracted driving seems to be getting worse according to a new survey from Nationwide Insurance.

Their survey results are not very encouraging.

They found that almost 9 out of 10 drivers say that phone use while driving has actually increased over the last year.

Nationwide reports that the average driver is now distracted five or more times during every commute to and from work.

Company drivers are also reporting rises in distraction, reckless driving and unsafe behavior around large vehicles.

Two thirds of those surveyed say they have seen road rage.

And four out of ten parents now say they trust a self-driving vehicle more than their own teens driving.
