Art 120, Howard School host Dia de los Muertos celebration
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — ART 120 and the Howard School paired up to host a Dia de los Muertos celebration on Sunday.
People attending enjoyed music, crafts , bilingual traditional storytelling, a Howard student art exhibit, and so much more.
They enjoyed traditional treats as well.
But the founder of ART 120 says the goal is to make intercultural education fun for all ages.
“We have such a beautifully diverse community in our neighborhood,” says founder Kate Warren.
Warren hopes that she can continue to bring this type of education into schools across the county that have had to cut funding for art programs.
Festival goers may also bring or create a memento in honor of their loved ones based on the roots of this Mexican and multi-cultural tradition.
This event was free and open to the public at the Chattanooga Choo Choo hotel garden.
