ArtsBuild collaborates with Crabtree Farms to work on climate Project
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — The subject of climate change continues to be a topic of discussion. Some believe in it. Some don’t.
Here in Chattanooga, Crabtree Farms is taking action to teach people more about the climate change issues. Not only here, but all around the world.
Centered around two towering inflatable sculptures that embody the energy of water and fire, their size aims to reflect the scale of the issues brought on by a changing climate.
“This is our first year of doing a project of this kind, our artist were in residency for 18 months and we’ve done a lot of learning from environmental organizations and just getting that one-on-one lesson about the region of Chattanooga and what our environment and landscape looks like today,” said Programs and Grants Coordinator at ArtsBuild, Brianna Jones.
Traveling throughout Chattanooga’s Rossville Boulevard Corridor during summer 2024, events will take place that entertain and educate about climate-related issues affecting the region, such as flooding and heat as the Fire and Water blowups represent.
“Alot of what we are trying to do for our project is to create a platform and use it as a catalyst for people to gather and get access to resources and learn more about places like Crabtree Farms,” said Jones.
This event is one of many that are taking on ideas to fix climate issues in not only just Chattanooga but all over world and Crabtree Farms is taking initiative to make a change.
