5 year old killed by falling TV set at Athens Daycare

ATHENS, Tennessee (WDEF) Athens police are investigating the death of a five year old at a local daycare facility on Wednesday.

The incident happened at the Kiddie Korner Daycare and Preschool.

The child was apparently crushed by a falling TV set.

The Daycare was closed on Thursday.

Kiddie Korner posted this message on their Facebook page last night.

“We are very saddened to say a staff child at our Athens location passed away this evening. Out of respect to the staff, child & others at Kiddie Korner we will be Closed Thursday & Friday in Athens.”

They will have someone at the Daycare from 10-12 on Friday to counsel children or staff.
