August 4th election results
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Here’s a recap of some of Thursday’s primary and general election results in Tennessee.
In the 3rd Congressional district, incumbent Congressman Chuck Flesichmann easily wins the Republican primary.
He took 84% of the votes against challengers Allan Levene and Geoffery Suhmer Smith.
It appears Fleischmann will face off with democratic challenger Melody Shekari in the November general election.
Shekari took 53% of the vote over challengers George Ryan Love and UTC Public Relations professor Michael Friedman.
In the Democratic race for the State House Representative position in District 28, incumbent JoAnne Favors easily beat challenger Dennis Clark.
Favors took 82% of the vote.
In District 29, incumbent Mike Carter beat Ethan White to hold on to his job in the State House of Representatives.
Carter took 84% of the vote.
And in the Democratic race for State Senate in District 10, Khristy Wilkinson beat two challengers to come out on top.
She had 44% of the vote and will face Republican Senator Todd Gardenhire in November.
