Authorities make 9 arrests in sex offender compliance check this week

JASPER, Tennessee (WDEF) – Law enforcement has just finished three days of sex offender compliance checks in Marion County.

The Sheriff’s Office reports they made nine arrests for violations of the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry.

They also took out four warrants and have two other suspects under federal review for possible violations.

The officers also report 16 firearm violations and finding marijuana in several of the homes.

In all, they checked on 62 people on the registry between Monday through Wednesday.
