Avondale comes together for 3rd New Chattanooga Community Expo

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Several people in the Avondale community came together for the 3rd Annual New Chattanooga Community Expo.

There were many booths at the free event as well as entertainment.

It kicked off today with a parade.

The expo is put on by “The Tenesaha Irvin Show” and Councilmen Anthony Byrd, who is also on the show.

They say the gathering is a way to reach out to the community.

“This event is all about bringing information and resources to the community and just having a day of celebration, a day of fun, peace, and joy for the community,” said Tenesaha Irvin.

“it’s a new movement for our city. Everybody’s not with gang banging, drug selling. Everybody is not with low income housing. We’re wanted to bring our housing up we’re wanting to bring our community up. We want to make this our own little safe haven in our neck of the woods so we’re just trying to make this area as beautiful as we can and we bring people together to show them that this is what we can do when we come together,” said Councilmen Byrd.

Irvin says the event continues to grow and expect to see it again next year.
