Baby on board! Mother delivers a baby girl while stuck in traffic

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – A family stuck in standstill traffic on I-24 resulted in a childbirth on the side of the road.

The family called 911 as they were headed to the hospital while the mother was in labor.

The Chattanooga Fire Department, East Ridge Police Department, and HCEMS all responded and aided in the delivery of a baby girl.

The baby was born on the side of I-24 near the Germantown exit, around 1 A.M.

The mother and baby were taken to the hospital and everyone is happy and healthy.
