Baylor and QB Tiano Compete In Southeast 7 on 7

       It’s becoming one of the biggest off season high school football events in the South. This years Southeastern 7 on 7 Championship in Dalton features 32 teams from 10 states. Teams from as far away as Missouri, Florida, and Louisiana all competing for the title. Several local teams including Dalton, Northwest Whitifield, Chattanooga Central, and Baylor all in action as well this afternoon.
      The Baylor Red Raiders opened their competition against East Lincoln, North Carolina. Baylor led by quarterback Nick Tiano. He has already committed to Mississippi State to play for head coach Dan Mullen. In the meantime, Tiano staying sharp, throwing a couple of touchdown passes. The Red Raiders were stopped at the doorstep on 4th down as time ran out. They end up losing to East Lincoln 21-15. Still a solid opening performance as the Red Raiders look for guys that will be ready to compete come fall practice…
      "We are trying to look for guys to plug in holes where we had guys graduate last year. So we are playing a lot of different guys in hopes that somebody is going to step up," said Baylor head coach Phil Massey. 
      Tiano agrees. "This is a great simulation of the passing game. Obvioulsy there’s no pash rush but this is a great simulation for us for the timing, for the receivers to be open, to go to read coverages and to be able to get open, so it is just a good opportunity for us to get better."
