Kimrey says Baylor has been a dream job for him since before working on Shane Beamer’s Gamecock staff. Kimrey was an easy choice for Baylor headmaster Chris Angel who worked with Kimrey for over a decade at the Hammond School in Columbia. There, Kimrey won 12 state titles, including six straight, which is the most in South Carolina state history.
“This is a job I’ve looked at my entire life,” Kimrey said. “For years at Hammond I kind of joked, the only two jobs I would leave Hammond for, because it was a great situation there, was the University of South Carolina and the Baylor School, and I promise you I said that for years. You can ask anybody at Hammond. So I was forced with the opportunity to decide between the two. Two great places with two great leaders. This is just a better fit for what my family needs, and we’re just super excited.”
