Beltone South Donates Wireless Listening Technology to Local Theatre
Thanks to a generous donation from Beltone South, the theatre now has brand new wireless listening technology, offering an even better experience for the hard of hearing. "What it does is it allows them to hear the sound directly into their hearing device, if they have the link," said the theatre’s executive director, George Quick.
Beltone donated two devices to the Chattanooga Theatre Center, Tuesday afternoon, which will be added to the center’s Mainstage and Circle Theatre. And according to Quick, the theatre’s production of A Christmas Story will be the first time they plan to use the new devices.
The theatre already offers real-time captioning, for the deaf and hard-of-hearing, the first Thursday of every production, but soon those who have a Beltone hearing-aid will be able to enjoy a show any time they want.
"I think this may help people because it’s convenient," said Quick, "Once people find out about it I think that they’ll want to come try it out, because that’s really the only thing that’s been holding those people back."
Opening night for A Christmas Story is scheduled for December 11, and will run through December 23. Show times and ticket prices can be found by clicking here.
Two years ago, Beltone South made a similar donation to the Cumberland County Playhouse in Crossville.
